A wedding in Sa Pa like none other – Hường and Alex’s “𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞”, a magnificent mountain wedding on one of Sa Pa’s most picturesque spot, has significantly raised the standard for destination wedding and challenged our very own understanding of what can be done at a wedding.
Love story
Two people from two different countries and backgrounds, two lives that had no odds of crossing paths, found each other amidst the ever-changing world. The two seemingly unrelated lives were woven into each other by the threads of destiny: the Tarot cards, the Forecasting paper, a first-time matchmaker, their Soul numbers,… Fate aligned for these two wandering souls to find the other in their most uncertain times.

So when it came to her destination wedding in Sa Pa, Hường dreamed beyond a traditional celebration—she envisioned a once-in-a-lifetime experience, not just for her and Alex, but for every guest who joined them on this unforgettable journey.
A curated wedding experience
As an amazing storyteller, Hường envisioned her wedding in Sa Pa as a story book with distinctive chapters as separate functions, such as the wedding ceremony, dinner reception and after party. Let’s open the story book of Spring Adventure, narrated by our couple themselves, and fly higher to Heaven with each Chapter.
Chapter 1: “Me Before You” – Welcome Day
“As we start the new year, we invite our friends and family to join in celebrating our joy and reliving the milestones that led us to one another. Beneath a cool sunset on the hill, we’ll share a nostalgic movie camping night—A Night to Return to Youth—bringing back memories of friendship, partnership, and family ties for all our beloved dreamy foolists.”
The couple’s comprehensive care for the guests’ experience was put to display: from the moment they set foot to Sa Pa, went to their rooms, to entering Chapter 1, everyone was looked after and ensured to be as comfortable and embraced as they could. It was a great opportunity to network, bond and get to know each other, getting ready for a memorable day ahead.
Chapter 2: “Spring Date” – Wedding Ceremony
“In a paradise-like setting, surrounded by the vibrant renewal of spring, our love blossoms—a bond that has been there from the very first moment. Every small detail, every gesture, and every glance has drawn us closer together. Now, in this place closest to heaven, we stand with deep gratitude, ready to receive blessings for our new journey – just as flowers begin to bloom with the arrival of spring.”
Hường and Alex’s stories are tied to the letter S. The bride’s home country of Vietnam is shaped like the letter S, the groom’s Zodiac is the Snake, their wedding in Vietnam took place in Sapa, and the one in Korea is being held in Seoul.
There might not be a more fitting description for the mountain wedding ceremony’s concept than “Heaven” – a holy place of eternal peace where joy and bliss are forever present with no limitations, and what better place there is to reimagine Heaven than the Sa Pa mountain top? You could say the mountain wedding ceremony was Hường’s manifestation of Heaven, a sanctuary which gathered everything and everyone she holds dear to her heart.
Chapter 3: “Us On Cloud 9” – Dinner Reception
“Soaring on Cloud9 with the love of Alex and Huong, we are joined by all our beloved on an exhilarating journey toward a blissful state of deep connection. We’ll pause for an hour at Cloud9 Station to savor delicious local food, share in the joy, and toast a hearty “Zo Zo” together before moving closer to our final destination. It’s time for food, wine, and good buddies. To save water, let’s raise our wine glasses!”
The dinner experience was elevated even further with a carefully curated menu showcasing Vietnamese highland market and delicious dishes. Bell dance, Sạp dance and the Daos’ wine drinking ritual were among the various activities to stir up the atmosphere at dinner.
Chapter 5: “La La Land” – Music Night
What do you expect from an extravagant destination wedding in Sa Pa’s celebration?
A Gangnam Style first dance? Cutting a 1.3-meter wedding cake with a long sword? A dance battle between professional dancers? An electrifying fireworks display? Surprise after surprise with moving speeches and performances in between?

Chapter 5: “City Of Star” – DJ Session
Programs aside, this chapter was strictly dedicated to PARTYING. The epic celebration of love came to a close on the highest note when the couple and their guests rejoiced in an electrifying DJ session with a famous Hype MC to elevate the trance of emotions even higher. Chapter 5 resembled the everlasting joy of Heaven, where each soul became a shining star transcending time and space.
The Attire
Hường and Alex had long envisioned their wedding in Sa Pa to be a beautiful intertwinement of Vietnam and Korea’s culture. The most visible display must be the wedding attire, with Alex donning Vietnamese Ao dai and Hường donning Korean’s Hanbok.
The groom’s Áo Dài is designed in the Ngũ Thân style, crafted from The La Khê, a lightweight silk, woven by skilled artisans of La Khê village in Thăng Long. The meticulous weaving techniques make it a rare fabric, taking up to six months to complete a single piece.
he body of the Áo Dài is adorned with five bat motifs, symbolizing Ngũ Phúc Lâm Môn—the Five Blessings. The hemline features delicate water wave (Thủy Ba) patterns, representing the origin of life. Combined with cloud motifs, they perfectly create a harmonious yin-yang balance
Hàol, a traditional attire from the Joseon dynasty, was exclusively worn by princesses and noblewomen during grand ceremonial occasions. The entire Hanbok was embroidered by hand over four years, embodying well-wishes for longevity and prosperity. Inscribed with the profound blessing: “二性之合 百福之源, 壽如山 富如海“ (The union of two virtues is the source of blessings. May your life be as enduring as the mountains and your fortune as vast as the sea)

Hường and Alex were also elaborate about the dress code, so that their guests could have the best flicks possible. While the men donned dashing black-tie fits, the women were encouraged to wear either Ao dai or Hanbok – collectively brought into being a beautiful culture-entwining gathering on top of Sapa, elevating this destination wedding’s visuals even further, painting a stunning scene in both fashion and cultural terms.
