At The Planners, we have been witnessing this evolution from the inside for years. As one of Vietnam’s earliest wedding planners, we have had the opportunity to work across the country and experience first-hand how differently each destination can shape a celebration.

SAPA – A HIDDEN GEM ON THE MOUNTAIN
There are places that provide a backdrop for a wedding. And then there are places that become part of the story. Sa Pa belongs firmly in the second category.

As The Planners have recently made our first wedding in Sapa, we shall indulge ourselves and put it at the first slot of the list. HA LONG BAY – A WORLD HERITAGE WONDER
Few destinations in Vietnam possess the sense of theatre of Hạ Long Bay. Rising dramatically from emerald waters, its limestone karsts create a landscape that feels almost otherworldly – and for a destination wedding, that means the setting can become far more than a backdrop.
For couples drawn to celebrations shaped by nature, Ha Long Bay opens up two distinct possibilities. A beachfront wedding can bring a sense of relaxed coastal elegance, with the bay and its iconic limestone formations stretching across the horizon. Or, for something truly iconic, the celebration can unfold on a private cruise, turning the wedding into a journey through one of Vietnam’s most recognizable landscapes.
Against the dramatic silhouette of Hạ Long Bay, Thi & Long exchanged their vows in a setting that felt almost dreamlike.
For Tam & Hubert, the bay became more than a backdrop. Their intimate wedding unfolded aboard a cruise, allowing the couple and their closest loved ones to drift through Hạ Long’s iconic seascape.
Located in northern Vietnam, Hạ Long Bay is within easy reach of Hanoi. At The Planners, we see Hạ Long Bay as a destination for couples who want to embrace the unexpected where the architecture of nature, the movement of the water and the changing light become an integral part of the wedding setting.
DA NANG – THE #1 DESTINATION OF ALL TIME
Dubbed as “the best city to live in Vietnam”, Danang should unanimously be put as the number one option for destination wedding hotlist. Beachfront resorts. Contemporary architecture. Mountains. The sea. And easy access to the cultural richness of Hội An and central Vietnam.
As experienced destination wedding planners, we can say with confidence that Danang is a compelling choice for couples who want both the destination wedding and the destination itself.
For the wedding itself, the possibilities are equally broad. Minimalist modernism, lush tropical styling, elegant coastal celebrations or something more sculptural and editorial can all work beautifully against the region’s architecture and landscape.

NHA TRANG – A CHARMING COASTAL CITY
You may have known Nha Trang as a tourism city, but did you know that it is becoming a rising choice for many couples as a wedding destination? For us, its appeal lies in versatility.
With its coastline, islands and access to a growing collection of luxury resorts, Nha Trang offers a more contemporary interpretation of the Vietnamese beach destination. It has the energy of a coastal city, while still giving couples access to private, island-style celebrations.
You can imagine an intimate ceremony overlooking the ocean, followed by cocktails at sunset and a long dinner under the stars. This is what we have brought to life for Linh&Daniel’s special day.
The surrounding landscape also invites couples to extend the celebration beyond the wedding day, with island excursions and curated experiences that make Nha Trang especially well-suited to a multi-day destination wedding. Here, the sea takes on a more vibrant and sophisticated character – bright, energetic and contemporary, rather than simply barefoot and bohemian.
PHU QUOC ISLAND – SAY “YES” IN GOLD
There is something wonderfully indulgent about bringing everyone you love to an island – and in Phu Quoc, the experience is made even more magical by one of its most signature moments: the splendid golden sunset.
The idea of holding a beach wedding on an island sounds already wonderful itself, but Phu Quoc provides more than that. As the sun descends over the Gulf of Thailand, the island is bathed in warm, golden light, creating a naturally cinematic setting for destination weddings.
We got to witness one of the most unforgettable glorious sunsets in Phu Quoc at Thư & Hảo’s beach wedding. Set against the mesmerizing sunset in Phu Quoc, embedded in expressively vibrant colors, their destination wedding was a spectacular symphony in which every note unfolded an aspect of their love story. The colorful decor and heartfelt details captured the warmth and joy of their union, creating a splendid scene that felt straight out of a fairy tale.
But the real appeal of Phú Quốc is not simply the beach. It is the feeling of escape. Here, the wedding can stretch beyond a single day: welcome cocktails at sunset, a relaxed island excursion, a private dinner, the ceremony itself, and a final brunch before everyone returns home.
