At The Planners, when we start a wedding planning process, we believe every celebration begins with the couple: their story, their personalities, and the very first moments that make their journey uniquely theirs.
The Insight
One of the very first things Minh&Ái shared with us at the beginning wasn’t their favorite color, floral preference, or dream venue. It was their own story: “We’re different in almost every way.”
Different personalities. Different ways of thinking. And even different locations. Yet somehow, those differences never pushed them apart. Instead, they became the very reason they chose each other.
Another detail quietly stood out during our conversations: they first met at a club. To many, it might seem like an ordinary memory. To us, it felt like the first page of a story waiting to be told. Because the most meaningful wedding concepts are born from details that belong only to the couple.
The Perspective
While Minh&Ái are remarkably different in personality and perspective, one thing has always connected them: a shared love for art. It became the common thread that allowed us to bridge two seemingly opposite worlds and transform their relationship into a narrative rather than a visual style.
Instead of designing a beautiful celebration, we asked ourselves a different question: What if the wedding could unfold like a theatrical production, where every guest experiences the story instead of simply witnessing it? And that question became the foundation of the entire project.
The Approach
Celestial Vow
Every design decision began with a simple question: How do you translate two completely different personalities into one shared experience?
Rather than designing around a wedding aesthetic, we designed around a relationship.
Minh&Ái were never meant to be the same. With this insight, we choose the eternal relationship between the sun and the moon as a visual metaphor for two opposite souls sharing the same orbit to create the Celestial Vows. The radiant warmth of the sun reflected Minh’s grounded, vibrant energy, while the quiet mystery of the moon embodied Ái’s gentle spirit.
Instead of simply decorating the ceremony space, we wanted to curate an emotion. Every design decision was rooted in the dialogue between light and darkness, warmth and stillness, strength and softness. A palette of luminous sapphire blue and gilded gold captured the meeting of daylight and the night sky, while the embracing silhouettes of the sun and moon symbolized two individuals who remain distinct, yet are forever drawn to one another. Together, these elements were carefully orchestrated to evoke the feeling of standing beneath an infinite universe – where love feels less like coincidence and more like destiny.
For us, Celestial Vows was the perfect opening chapter for this love story – a quiet, poetic introduction to who Minh & Ái are, before inviting every guest to step beyond the gates and discover the world they had created together.
Coup de Théâtre
As planners, we believe the most memorable weddings are not defined by how beautiful they look, but by how deeply they move people. Sometimes, the most powerful design decision isn’t adding another decorative element – it’s knowing exactly when to change the narrative.
For Minh & Ái’s dinner reception, every creative decision revolved around one central idea: to create a world that truly belonged to them.
Borrowing from the French theatrical term coup de théâtre – a dramatic twist that completely transforms the course of a story – we reimagined the transition between ceremony and reception as an emotional turning point.
That transformation began the moment the Sun & Moon gates opened.
Instead of marking the couple’s re-entrance, the gates became a symbolic threshold between two realities: the celestial universe guests had just experienced, and the intimate, surreal world that reflected Minh & Ái’s own imagination. From that moment on, the visual language shifted entirely. The luminous sapphire blues and golds of Celestial Vows dissolved into deep crimson velvets, dramatic shadows, and sculptural forms that celebrated the unexpected. Inspired by the whimsical spirit of fantasy rather than any single fictional universe, familiar objects were deconstructed, exaggerated, and reimagined into symbolic installations.
It was the moment guests started living inside Minh & Ái’s story.

At the heart of this world stood an oversized storybook. It served as an invitation to move through their chapters, not by turning pages, but by discovering them through the tablescape. Each table became a scene. Every material carried symbolism. Every composition represented a different emotional chapter in the couple’s relationship.
The Rose and Its Thorns
“To love a rose is to welcome its thorns.”
Love is often imagined through roses. And we wanted to remind guests that roses have always come with thorns. Heart-shaped ceramic vessels filled with crimson roses and honey locust thorns became a visual reflection of love’s duality: beauty and vulnerability existing side by side.
The Unbreakable Bond
“Even from the ashes of our storms, love finds a way to bloom.”
Raw volcanic rocks were paired with vibrant anthurium adorned with gemstones and jewelry. In this chapter, we want to create a beautiful and intentional contrast of how relationships are shaped not by the absence of hardship, but by the ability to grow through it.
The Emotional Chaos
“Love twisted our minds, but it kept our hearts burning.”
Black and white moss spread organically between twisted candles, creating a composition that felt restless, imperfect, and alive. We believe that, sometimes, the most honest expression of love isn’t harmony. It’s learning to stay through the chaos.
The Gamble
“Love is a gamble, and I’m betting my whole life on you.”
Love always involves uncertainty. And sometimes, it asks us to risk something. This final chapter explored that idea through driftwood, allium blooms, and symbolic poker cards woven into the floral composition. Perhaps the greatest act of love is choosing, every single day, to keep placing your bet on the same person.
