3.Choose the size of bouquet

-Neat Hourglass (Shoulders in proportion with hips, defined waist, curved bust and bottom, you wear the same size top and bottom)

  • Go For: Any shape will suit.
  • Avoid: You’re lucky nothing to avoid.

-Full Hourglass (Bigger thighs, fuller bottom and hips, small waist, fuller bust)

  • Go For: Large Posies, Long and Full bouquets such as Tear drop or Cascade.
  • Avoid: Smaller bouquets as these will highlight your top and bottom and make you appear larger.

-Pear (Defined waist, Larger hips and thighs, Narrower shoulders than hips, wear larger size bottom than top)

  • Go For: Long Stemmed bouquets.
  • Avoid: Tear drops and Cascades as these will draw the attention downwards.

-Inverted Triangle (Square Solid Shoulder line, Flatter hips and Bottom, wider shoulder than hips, wear larger size on the top than bottom)

  • Go For: Medium or large Posies.
  • Avoid: Small or Long and straight Bouquets.

-Pencil (Slim Long frame, Same size top as bottom, Small bust, Little waist definition, Narrow hips and small bottom)

  • Go For: Small to Medium Round Bouquets or Small Tear drop or Cascade bouquets.
  • Avoid: Medium to large Tear drops or Cascades as they may over power your physique, also straight bouquet styles will get lost.

-Rectangle (A solid square frame, same size top and bottom, small bust, little waist definition, flat hips and bottom)

  • Go For: Medium to large Tear drops or Cascade, Long Stems.
  • Avoid: Small or Round bouquets, also try and avoid holding your bouquet around your middle.

-Apple (Rounded shoulders, Fullness around middle, Flattish bottom, Slimmer or average legs, Average to big Bust)

  • Go For: Large Tear drops or Cascades to help slim your look.
  • Avoid: Round Posies.

4.Choose the color of flower for your bouquet

There are so many different shades, your florists can recommend the right type of bloom to work well with the exact colour of your dress, and to compliment your bridesmaid’s dresses. If you are having your dress made or altered, ask the dressmaker for spare material to wrap around the stems of your bouquet, you then have the perfect match.

  • White: rose, sweet pea, camellia, stephanotis, narcissus, gardenia, orchid, lily of the valley, jasmine, and snowdrop.
  • Pink: rose, ranunculus, peony, sweet pea, carnation, tulip, protea, boronia, and lily
  • Lavender: lavender, lilac, anemone, statice, iris, delphinium, and hydrangea.
  • Yellow: daffodil, sunflower, tulip, gerbera, lily, and freesia.
  • Red: gerbera, rose, dahlia, poinsettia, and amaryllis.

A crescent bouquet: This feathery curve is composed of cushion, spider, and deco mums, and bell-shaped nerines. Use any blooms that can be wired to create the distinctive look; dangling ones form the curling ends. It suits a medium height bride with a fuller figure or a dress with a wide skirt.

A pageant bouquet Similar in to the cascade, but slightly more compact and pulled-together. These bouquets are made so the stems can lay beautifully along the brides arm.  Gorgeous sophistication is what comes to mind when I think about the pageant bouquet.

A loose bouquet: With no particular pattern or style the loose bouquet goes against the standard and literally encompass a beautifully just thrown together look.

  • Spring: Hyacinth, tulip, daffodil, lilac, peony, sweet pea, lily of the valley, cherry blossom
  • Summer: Hydrangea, lisianthus, snapdragon, sunflower, tuberose, cornflower, zinnia, cosmos
  • Fall: Calla lily, dahlia, bittersweet, celosia, mum, scabiosa, pomegranate, cranberry
  • All year round flowers: calla lily, carnation, gypsophila, orchid, protea, rose, and tulip (although this list may vary by region).

Also remember that your bouquet needs to be really comfortable to hold so don’t opt for anything that is going to be awkward to carry and make you hunch your shoulders or stand lop sided.
